Ramzan, the holy month of fasting for Muslims, began on Saturday. All Muslims in the state will observe fast and abstain completely from eating and drinking during the day. The first ‘roza’ or the fast will be observed on Sunday.In Gujarat, the moon was sighted today and the fasting will begin tomorrow. It will start from 4.35 in the morning till 7.29 pm in the evening,said Shabbir Ahmed Siddiqi, Shahi Imam of Juma Masjid, Ahmedabad on Saturday. ‘Shravan’ the holy month of fasting for Hindus is also coinciding with Ramzan. This is due to an additional month (adhik maas) in the Hindu calendar. Both communities will be fasting and praying for the entire month.
న్యూఢిల్లీ : ముస్లింలకు పవిత్రమైన రంజాన్ సందర్భంగా శనివారం నుంచి ఉపవాస దీక్ష ప్రారంభమైంది. శుక్రవారం రాత్రి నెలవంక దర్శనమివ్వడంతో రంజాన్ మాసం ప్రారంభమైనట్లు ఫతేపురి మసీదు షాహి ఇమాం మౌలానా ముఫ్తీ ముకరమ్ అహ్మద్ పొద్దుపోయాక ప్రకటించారు. దీంతో ఆదివారం నుంచి రంజాన్ మొదలవుతుందని అంతకుముందు చేసిన ప్రకటన రద్దయింది. ఈ నెల మొత్తం ఉపవాస దీక్ష చేపట్టి, అనంతరం ఈద్-ఉల్-ఫిత్ర్ పర్వదిన వేడుకను నిర్వహించుకుంటారు. ఆ తర్వాత హైదరాబాద్సహా దేశంలోని వివిధ ప్రాంతాల మౌలానాలను సంప్రదించామన్నారు. నెలవంక దర్శనమైనట్లు కొందరి నుంచి సమాచారం అందడంతో శుక్రవారం రాత్రి పొద్దుపోయాక పాత ప్రకటనను రద్దుచేస్తూ తాజాగా విడుదల చేసినట్లు వివరించారు.
